We pay cash!

We pay cash right away for your gently used, name brand clothing, toys and equipment*. ¬†We pay from 15-¬†50% of the amount at which we will sell an item, which is 25-50% of the retail market value–20% more if you agree to spend the proceeds at Fancy Pants.¬† We subscribe to the NextGen Fair Pricing Standards to arrive at the price.

* we do take some maternity clothing and some high-end equipment on consignment

 Appointments, Walk-ins and Drop-Offs

You may choose any one of three buying arrangements: Selling by appointment, Walking in to sell, or dropping off your items for purchase at a later time.

РAppointments:  This is for the more organized among us who prefer to setup a time to sell in advance. Appointments may be set up through this website [See below] or by phone (617 731-9400).

Appointments may be scheduled during buying hours–10:00a -2:30p (on the half hour) ¬†Appointments are 30 minutes long.

At the time of your appointment, we will go through your things, let you know what we would like to buy, render payment, and return or donate(clothing only) items we’re unable to take.  Having an appointment minimizes the chances of having to wait.  Note: It takes up to half an hour to process two bags/ bins of clothing, footwear and toys.  Equipment generally takes about 5 minutes to test and evaluate.  If you have more than this, we strongly suggest that you book more than one appointment (back-to-back).

In the case of walk-ins and drop-offs, please limit the amount you bring to 2 bags/boxes + any equipment.  NOTE: on Saturdays, added buyers are on hand; you may walk-in with toys, equipment, outerwear and footwear any time.

-Walk-ins:  This is for those who value convenience, but is subject to buyer availability.  Walk-in any time during buying hours.  On arrival, we will take your name and contact information and quickly screen your items to be sure they conform to our buying guidelines (outlined above).   We will let you know how soon a buyer will be available.  The buyer will then go through your things, let you know what we would like to buy, render payment, and return any items we’re unable to take.  If, for any reason, a buyer is unavailable to process your things in a manageable time, subject to space availability, you may ask to Drop-off your things for later processing [See below].  Note: It is always a good idea to call us 617 731-9400 before you load up and journey to the store in order to ascertain the current wait time.

-Drop-Offs:¬† This option is open to customers having once sold to Fancy Pants and to customers walking in when ¬†buyer(s) are occupied and unable to process their things in a reasonable time (subject to space availability). ¬†A Dropoff form is completed: listing the items being left for evaluation and purchase, identifying how the customer would like to be notified once completed, how any payment is to be made, and the disposition (e.g. pickup, donation) of any ‚Äúno Thank you‚Äôs.‚ÄĚ ¬†NOTE: Due to space limitations, we may be unable to accept equipment or more than 2 bags/bins of dropped off clothing/toys.
